It may not last, but I’ve decided to try doing a video version of Geezercast along with the audio version. This one’s about time-machines, the hassles of video blogging, a great speech by Salt Lake City Mayor Anderson plus a few other odds and ends.
Summer’s winding down and the Geezercast quotient is rising as farm activity starts to move indoors. A few things in the NY Times caught my eye — a story about pedophiles that paints a perfect road-map for people are looking for support in that activity (I’m wondering whether the author really realized what he was doing) and another piece about how song-writers with Democratic political points of view are being shut out of country music (with implications that make me grumpy).
Not to mention the story of getting a dang bug caught in my ear. How can you resist all that??
Well, the farm party is over, fall is in the air and I have a new keyboard to play with. So this is a Geezercast showing off what the new gizmo can do, which leads to reflections about the Mifflin Street Block Pary in Madison, WI of all things.
More erratic-ness in the Geezercasting. Dang I’m having a good time this summer, but the poor old podcast is being neglected. This one’s about bio-fuels — which I think are completely nifty, but will present you (my unborn grandchildren) some interesting problems to solve. So here’s a letter forward in time, letting you know that I’m thinking about ya.
Yep, a bit of a hiatus there — lots of stuff going on, but I’m finally caught up. So this time I reflect on, of all things, religeon. And marketing… And what Descartes had to say about that. Yep, he was way ahead of his time. May make you religeous types grouchy. Sorry about that.

I was going to do another one of my “see, I’m in the majority” rants based on the current polls. But I came across one where I’m in the minority — a majority (admittedly skinny — 51 to 49%) of Americans think it’s OK for the administration to rummage through our Internet traffic and phone calling records in the name of fighting terrorism. I was so struck by that number that I decided to devote a Geezercast to the topic.
Plus, there’s a new version of Jamstix out and I dropped a new theme song into the show as a result.
Today’s podcast is the geek equivalent of a ghost story. Gather round the campfire and I’ll tell you about the trifecta (yep, 3) of screwups as the .EU top level domain has rolled out. It’s kindof inside baseball, so if you don’t like geek stuff this is probably one to skip.
Weird combo huh? Well, that’s what’s on my mind today. So this one talks about the walks that Marcie and I take every day and then slides into a brief description of an encounter that I had with a bully while I was out and about. Nothing specific, no gossip, just an observation that I can’t stand bullies and I tend to poke them in the eye when I encounter them.
Back from my first trip abroad in a really long time. A few observations about how “un-different” New Zealand is, although there are other things that were different enough to make it interesting. Sorry about the long hiatus in GeezerCasts.
Well, I’m not gonna talk about Corp.com this time — at least, not directly. But, since I’m starting up a new business, I thought I lay a rant on you about why I don’t like OPM (other people’s money) and have never taken any.
